Welcome to Atlanta, where we read all day

Hi + Welcome! I'm Lauren. I have lived in metro Atlanta nearly my whole life growing up in public libraries, saving money for the school's book fair, and finding books where the characters were like me! Now I'm what some might consider a grown up and I'm an Atlanta area high school library media specialist, where I get to help students rejuvenate and continue their love of reading. I believe in small businesses, especially independently owned book stores. Not only do they feed the families of the people who work in them, but they provide joy, safety, curiosity, connection, and so much more! During the time of Covid, I have turned to reading as my sanctuary and encourage students, my fellow teachers, and my community to do the same- while supporting libraries and book stores during this economically challenging time.

Atlanta Reads blooms from my love of reading, community, and providing a platform for amazing people and ideas! I hope that you enjoy this little passion project of mine as I showcase independent book stores, ways to read books, book recommendations, local authors, Atlanta area events, and possibly my favorite -- different reading nooks around the city.
